1. Routine
I always want to keep the same routine with my horses. So because of this, part of my routine is taking my horses in and turning them out. I mostly do this because I have a very hard horse to catch if he isn't in the routine of coming in every day.
2. Part Grazing
I personally always like to keep grazing to around 12 hours a day. I wouldn't recommend this if you live in a different country where grazing related illnesses aren't an issue but here in Scotland, we have to worry about grass sickness.
3. Changing weather
Another reason I do part stabling is that of the weather changes of each season. So in the winter, it is cold and snowy so I like to take the horses in at night. In the summer it gets hotter and the flies come out so I like to take them in during the day to avoid fly bites and sunburn.
