How to Care For Your Horse When You are Busy

If you have a busy life and are always working then owning a horse can be difficult.  If you can't afford to pay for someone else to care your horse, here are some tips to care for your horse quickly but properly.

Horse's Daily Routine

If you are about to buy a horse but know you don't have as much time as you'd like, make sure you are buying a horse that can live out at all times.  This means you will have more time to care for your horse and less time to muck out.

Grooming your horse can be quick and easy if you use the correct brushes.  Using my grooming routine you will cut down time and still get the same results.  while you're grooming your horse, it is important to do your daily health checks.

If you are really pushed on time one day, lunging your horse can be really great for keeping your horse in work but taking less time to work him.  20 minutes of lunging is the equivalent to 1 hour of ridden work.  I now prefer to lunge with no extra 'gadgets' but do whatever you are comfortable with as long as you know what you are doing.  I like to mix it up with pole work,

You can then go riding on days that you aren't as busy, work on challenging his mind with schooling and jumping or go on a long hack with your friends.

I am not a horse trainer or any other equestrian professional.  I only give advice on horsey topics that I have experience as a horse owner in.  Please don't follow my advice without contacting a relevant equestrian professional.
